Flags as Art
CO, TX, and NM flags re-imagined as folk art
With six different sizes ranging from the extra small 22"x15" to the double extra large 67"x45," two choices of wood, an optional Japanese Yakisugi fire treatment option, and the option for whatever customization you can imagine, you will find a unique flag for your unique space.

You've probably seen flags similar to these in gift shops, on Etsy, at farmer's markets, etc. At first glance many of these probably look quite similar to those offered here. Why are these any different?
First, each component of the flag is an individual piece of solid wood. The designs are not simply routed or painted on. For example, the blue and white stripes of the Colorado flag are single, solid pieces of wood (the exceptions are the extremely large sizes; those may use up to three pieces of solid wood joined together).
Second, a lot of time is spent on the finishes. For the ultimate flag it starts with carefully chosen wood, painstaking application of the Japanese Yakisugi wood burning technique, and then whatever combination of stains and sanding the piece needs to bring out its maximum beauty.
Third, because these flags are typically built to order for a specific customer, we have the opportunity for a fair amount of customization. Do you need a very specific size? Do you need some custom colors to match your home's decor or possibly to tie into your business? Perhaps you would like some additions to the standard flag? We can work together to get exactly what you need in these cases.
Lastly, even the non-custom "standard" flags here are very unique. There's no cookie cutter approach here, two flags of the same size, with the same finishes, will look noticeably different.

About Me
I'm an ex-software engineer from New England who has bounced around the southwest for the past several years. I currently reside in Durango, CO.

A few years back I started dabbling in carpentry while working on numerous home improvement projects. Once those were completed I found myself with lots of tools and nothing to do with them, so I turned my attention to more artistic endeavors. One of the things I started making were folk art inspired Colorado flags. The response to these from friends and family was so positive I decided to offer them to a broader audience.
